2012 Audi TT RS vs. 2011 BMW 1-series M Coupe, 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe - Comparison Tests
Tested at the Tail of the Dragon, a roadway at the extreme eastern edge of Tennessee. A 11-mile, kabillion-turn stretch of U.S. 129 is a juking, diving, hopping, rail-free roller-coaster track. However, the 1M’s super-quick steering (2.2 turns lock-to-lock), combined with a short wheelbase, makes it feel like the go-kart of the group.
The BMW 1M is neither a performance poseur nor a cynical styling exercise. It’s the clear winner.
